As someone that identifies as a creative, I often struggle to answer that question of "who inspires you" without breaking out into a cold sweat , frantically trying to think back to every significant typographer I learned about in uni, what was that mag called again? OZ? Herb Lub-something?? In reality whilst admiring the work of many influential creatives that paved the way for me and provided multiple grids for me to play with and break , the truth is that on a day-to-day, when trying to find inspiration, i'm much more likely to look to my peers for inspiration. Some people might call endlessly scrolling through instagram lazy, but as a platform it makes it easy to learn about new designers, engage with people and also find some inspiration to kick -start my own butt into creating something new once in a while. It's never a bad idea to challenge yourself by looking at the competition. Better still, it can be refreshing to discover a creative with similar motives to you that makes you feel like reaching out and collaborating. I mean, that's pretty brazen but I definitely believe that collaboration is a key factor in developing your style.
Below I have dropped in a few instagram accounts that I follow on the daily for inspiration, and generally just some all around aesthetically well curated stuff n that. Nice.
